It appears Friday night dinners are back, but things are still tense with everyone. Emily asks Lorelai when she’s getting married and Lorelai tells her June 3. Emily insists Lorelai brings Luke to dinner next week. Emily and Richard scare the hell out of them when they start talking about insurance gaps and consolidating assets. They convince Luke and Lorelai that con artists are out to get them all.

The newspaper staff has completed the process of kicking Paris out, but she hasn’t come out of her bunker to hear the news. Rory goes in and tells her the board voted her out. Paris takes it okay until she finds out Rory has been voted in as her replacement. She throws all Rory’s stuff out into the hallway and changes the locks. She calls Logan to tell him what happened and he says she should move in with him.

Luke has been fixing a few things around the Dragonfly. Michel tells Lorelai he’s upset because they have a weekly tradition of getting together for coffee and making a list of things that need to be done. Lorelai feels bad so they go to Weston’s and make a list of a hundred things for Luke to do.

Lorelai thinks it’s strange that Christopher hasn’t called lately, so she suggests Rory invite him to Yale for lunch. She shows him around campus and then he wants to see her place. She’s a little nervous to tell him she’s moved in with her boyfriend that afternoon, but Christopher and Logan get along really well. They were both kicked out of the same prep school, so it’s a real bonding moment. They all go out to dinner, and Christopher leaves the table to call Lorelai and tell her Rory and Logan are living together. Then he feels like a fink. Rory herself calls and tells her the news, and Lorelai is a little weirded out by the idea.

Luke: I’m not much of a gentleman.

Michel: Not if you insist on dressing like a Peanuts character.

Rory meets Paul Anka for the first time, and Lorelai convinces her that if she puts sugar on her toes and lets the dog lick it off, he’ll like her. Lorelai takes Rory to Luke’s and then to the inn to show everyone that she’s back. Michel is really happy to see her, but quickly recovers and says he was just surprised.

Lane has noticed that all the songs Zack writes have girls’ names and she’s a little annoyed. He says nothing rhymes with Lane, but Brian says he thinks he can come up with something. He starts writing a song called “Lane” and Zack gets jealous and goes nuts. The band has a gig, and Zack shows up for sound check with a tambourine player and a Gwen Stefani mic. The show is a disaster because Zack is yelling at everyone and freaking out. Zack kicks Brian’s amp amp and Gil tackles him. They all get dragged offstage. Lane finds Zack outside asks him what the hell happened. He says this is why people in bands shouldn’t date.

Christopher calls and says he has news, so Lorelai goes to have lunch with him. He says his grandfather died and left him with a ton of money, and he wants to take care of Lorelai and Rory. Lorelai, of course, says she wants nothing, but Rory says she wouldn’t mind him paying for Yale so she can get out from under the grandparents. Thanksgiving Day, Rory and Lorelai go have lunch with Christopher and Rory asks him to pay for Yale.

Liz is hanging around Luke’s, using his kitchen to make her turkey, and Luke tells her about April. Liz thinks it’s a little weird that he hasn’t told Lorelai yet. Anyway, Liz’s dinner doesn’t turn out right, so the Renaissance Fair crowd has dinner with her and Luke at the Dragonfly. Lorelai tells Luke about her meeting with Christopher, and Luke says it’s fine. Then he goes to the other room and tries to call April, but nobody answers. Logan’s sister, Honor, calls Rory and says she hates that she and Logan broke up. Rory thought they were just on a break and she’s upset to hear that Logan is telling people they’re totally broken up.

Michel, to Rory: It’s kind of okay that you are here.

Christopher: You want some people-crushing money?

Rory: You don’t know what it was like to be living with them.

Lorelai: Hello! Oppressed one, class of ’85.

The stove at the Dragonfly catches fire, and the wall behind it takes some damage. Lorelai has to call Richard because he set up the insurance policy, and then Richard has to come to the inn. Lorelai starts interrogating him, asking if Rory is back at Yale and if the Huntzbergers have humiliated her any more. Richard gets mad and leaves.

Luke and Lorelai have dinner at Jackson and Sookie’s house, and Lorelai notices Luke sitting calmly and patiently eating his dinner while everyone else yells and runs around and stuff. She feels bad and thinks they always do things she wants to do. When he says he wants to go to Miss Patty’s dance recital with her, Lorelai insists he go camping that night instead. Luke goes, but he’s totally bored because he really didn’t feel like camping.

The DAR ladies have failed to sell all the tables at some charity event, so they think they’ll become laughingstocks.  They talk about cancelling, but Rory jumps in and saves the day. She has a lot of suggestions, so the ladies ask her to take over the planning. They set her up with everything she needs, including an assistant named Lacey. Emily starts getting freaked out when Rory starts changing things, but realizes when Rory says they’re sold out. Paris comes over freaking out because her parents have been evading taxes or something and now she’s broke until her trust fund kicks in when she’s twenty-five. Rory tells her she’s going to have to get a job. Paris panics because she’s never had to work, so Rory says she can be a server at the DAR thing.

The event is a hit, but then Mrs. Huntzberger comes in. She didn’t RSVP, but she insists on getting a table. Rory seats her at the crappy table set aside for non-RSVPers but Emily tells her Shira can’t sit there because it’s an insult. Rory thinks it’s just Shira there, but then she sees Mitchum and goes to the kitchen and has a panic attack. Richard and Mitchum run into each other in the restroom, and Richard asks him what happened with Rory at the paper. Mitchum says he feels bad about firing Rory, but she just didn’t have what it takes. He says he also feels bad about the way Rory was treated at dinner at his house. Richard goes out and finds Emily and says everything Lorelai told them about the Huntzbergers was true. Richard wants to punch Mitchum, but Emily sends him outside. Then she goes and sits down next to Shira. She sweetly moves Shira to her new table, and says she heard what happened at the dinner. Shira starts talking about the Huntzbergers’ image, but Emily says she knows Shira was a “two-bit gold-digger fresh off the bus from Hicksville” when Mitchum found her. When Rory gets up and starts thanking people and accepting applause, Richard realizes she’s really not where she should be.

At the dance recital, Kirk puts on a super creepy performance, during which Lorelai notices Luke coming back from his camping trip. She goes to the diner to ask him what’s going on, and he says he was bored. He tells her he doesn’t understand why she was trying to get rid of him. She apologizes and he tells her he enjoys spending time with her no matter what they’re doing. Luke feels better about things and decides to go back to the woods.

Sookie: What is pubic speaking?

Lorelai: I’m hoping it’s a misprint.

Paris: I hate the rich. A hard rain is gonna fall, know what I’m saying?

Sookie, about the kids dancing in the audience: This is so stressful.

Rory and Paris are both hungover so Lorelai brings them hangover food. Lorelai tries to talk to Rory about all the stuff she was saying about Logan, but Rory totally blows her off and won’t talk about it. Rory goes straight to Logan’s and says she can’t do the casual dating thing. He gets angry because he thinks she’s giving him an ultimatum. She says that’s not what she’s doing, but he agrees to it anyway. He assures her he can be a boyfriend guy, he’s sure of it. They go out for a while and when they get back to Logan’s, his sister Honor is there to tell him she’s gotten engaged. She wants Logan to be there when she tells their parents, and she likes Rory and wants her to come, too. Rory goes home and tells Lorelai she has news and doesn’t want to hear any backtalk. She says she and Logan are now a couple and she’s meeting his parents tonight. Lorelai has to stuff a pillow in her mouth to keep from saying anything.

When Paris gets back to the dorm, Doyle is in her bed, surrounded by tissues. He’s sick and wants Paris to take care of him, but she’s totally freaked out by his germs. She calls Nanny to take care of him. After Rory tells Paris that she and Logan are together, Paris decides she needs to talk to Doyle about their relationship. They decide to commit and call themselves boyfriend and girlfriend.

Sookie’s doctor puts her on bedrest and Lorelai is freaking out about getting dinner out at the inn. She calls Luke to come help her. Sookie keeps calling Luke to ask him what he’s doing with dinner, and she actually has kitchen workers bringing her food. Luke finds out and says no more food can leave the premises. After a while, Luke notices one of the guys bringing food upstairs. Sookie is in one of the rooms testing all the food. After Jackson comes in and yells at Luke, Lorelai goes outside and finds Jackson taking Sookie home in one of the Dragonfly tram things. Sookie says she’ll calm down and let one of her guys, Manny, take over.

Logan is nervous about dinner with his parents, but Rory says she’ll be fine because of her experiences with Emily. Logan’s mother is distantly polite and his grandfather is cold and unfriendly. A maid comes into the parlor with a note on a silver platter that says Mitchum is still at the office, so Logan’s mom, Shira, takes everyone into the dining room to start dinner. Grandpa Huntzberger is horrible during dinner and starts hollering about how marrying into the family is a serious matter. Logan starts defending Honor, but it turns out Rory is the problem. Shira doesn’t think Logan should marry a girl who wants to work for a living because being a Huntzberger wife is a full time job. Gramps thinks that since Logan is going to take over the family company, he needs to marry a girl who can handle it. Mitchum meets Logan and Rory in the foyer as they’re leaving and he’s perfectly nice to Rory. Logan acts really depressed when he takes Rory home and he kind of blows her off when he drops her at her dorm.

Rory calls her mom and tells her everything. Lorelai tries to convince her that maybe Logan isn’t the best guy for her and she shouldn’t try to change him, and then Logan knocks on the door and apologizes for taking off. A couple days later, Mitchum Huntzberger comes to the Yale Daily News office and apologizes to Rory and asks her to intern for him at a new paper he just acquired. She turns him down because she doesn’t want to have anything handed to her just because he feels guilty. He tells her it’s a good opportunity and she should just take what’s being handed to her.

Paris: Sick people freak me out.

Rory: You’re pre-med!

Paris: I’m really sick of people throwing that in my face.

Old man Twickham, a Stars Hollow resident, is dying for about the twentieth time and the whole town goes to say goodbye. They wait in a line outside the house and Kirk comes by with Twickham souvenirs.

The man actually dies, and Luke wants to find out what’s going to happen to his house. He and Lorelai go to a town meeting where everyone is trying to find someplace for Kirk to stay. Turns out Mr. Twickham left the house to the Stars Hollow historical society so it could be turned into a museum for two months, and then he wanted it turned over to the head of the historical society, who is Taylor, to be disposed of as he sees fit. Luke volunteers to help with the museum stuff. He tells Lorelai it’s because he was close to old man Twickham, and he tells Taylor he’s volunteering because Lorelai wanted him to.

Rory is depressed that Logan hasn’t called, and Paris is depressed because Doyle hasn’t called. Rory tells Paris to go out and do something fun, and then she’s surprised when she goes home to Stars Hollow after Friday night dinner and finds Paris hanging out with Lorelai. Lane thinks Zack is having an affair with Sophie, the music store owner. Lane meets Paris and Rory at the grand opening of the Twickham museum on Saturday, and they all get drunk on Miss Patty’s Founder’s Day punch. Lane leaves to go confront Sophie, and Paris walks off in her bare feet to find a pay phone to call Doyle.

Lane goes to the music store, and Sophie takes her to the back where Zack is jamming with a banjo in a bluegrass band. He was embarrassed because it’s not rock and roll. Paris is yelling at people in the street, demanding change for the pay phone. Rory is the only one back at the museum, and she calls Logan and gets his voicemail.

The travel magazine from last week liked the inn so much that they’re going to interview Lorelai. The interview goes really well, but she ends up talking an awful lot about her mother. When she mentions this to Rory, Rory is horrified and tells her that unless Lorelai said it was off the record, it’s all fair game. Lorelai tries to get the reporter to cut the Emily stuff out, but she says she’d have to pull the whole article.

None of old man Twickham’s historical stuff is actually historical and the diorama Taylor sets up is totally creepy. Taylor says he wants to keep the house as a museum permanently, but Luke tells him it’s a bad idea. He wants to buy the house. Dean’s been working on the museum, too, and he’s been giving Luke the cold shoulder. Luke finally asks him what his problem is, and Dean tells him Lorelai is going to get bored with him eventually. Why this makes him so pissy at Luke is beyond me. And besides, Dean and Rory broke up three different times, and each time it was Dean who did the dumping, not Rory.

Rory gets totally trashed on Miss Patty’s punch, and Lorelai takes her home. Rory cries in her lap on the bathroom floor, wondering why Logan doesn’t like her.

Sophie, to Lane: Oh my god, Garrison Keillor, what is your point?

Taylor: Who doesn’t love Muzak?

Sookie: Oh! Music lovers?

Now that Luke and Lorelai have reconciled, Kirk is collecting everyone’s ribbons. Lulu won’t give hers back because it’s pink and she likes pink. Kirk has been having problems with his mother lately. She’s allergic to Lulu. Luke tells him he should move out of his mother’s house.

A photographer from a travel magazine is coming to the Dragonfly because it’s one of the top ten inns in Connecticut. Michel has been to California and he comes back with Botox and whitened teeth. He brings back a smog globe for Lorelai and He’s Just Not That Into You for Sookie. He also got to be on The Price is Right and he won a motor home. The Price is Right people drive up with it on the day the photographer is there, and it gets in the way. Lorelai gets pissed and yells at Michel. She feels bad later and tries to help him sell it.

Rory goes to Friday night dinner and Emily is surprised and disappointed when Lorelai doesn’t come with her. She thinks that because she told Luke to go back to Lorelai, things should be back to normal. She assumes Luke must not have done it.

Lorelai and Rory go shopping and they see Logan having lunch with some girl. Lorelai gets mad about him being on a date, but Rory says they’ve agreed to keep things casual. When Logan asks if she saw him, she acts like she’s totally fine with the whole thing. The next day, Logan’s friend Robert asks Rory to go with him to Finn’s birthday party. Rory accepts.

It’s a Quentin Terrantino themed party and Rory wears her Chilton uniform. Logan is Bruce Willis, his date is the Bride and Robert is “dead extra number two.” It looks like a pretty interesting party. Logan comes up to Rory and says he wants to leave with her, but she reminds him they both came with dates. Logan is bothered and he doesn’t like that he’s bothered.

Luke and Lorelai go on their first post-breakup date, and when they get back they find Kirk sleeping in the boat in Lorelai’s garage. He’s taken Luke’s advice and moved out of his mother’s house. He ends up sleeping in Michel’s mobile home.

Lorelai has gotten Luke a cell phone and he doesn’t know how to do anything, so Lorelai has put her number on speed dial for him. Emily comes to the diner and yells at Luke for not getting back together with Lorelai. Luke speed dials Lorelai so she can hear Emily’s yelling, so she races to the diner and tells Emily to shut up and get the hell out.

Kirk: I had an imaginary girlfriend for a while when I was younger, but she left me.

Everyone at the Yale Daily News is talking about what they did all summer with internships and stuff, and of course Rory freaks out about how she hasn’t done enough for her career. Doyle, the editor, gives everyone their assignments for the year and Rory is happy to get the features beat. Logan shows up and Doyle kisses his ass and tells Rory it’s because Logan is the son of Mitchum Huntzberger, the newspaper magnate.

Rory (who is supposed to be some kind of genius, right?) decides the best article idea she can come up with is about illegal music downloading. While interviewing this weird guy who I guess downloads a ton of music, she realizes it’s a dead end. She takes a break and goes into a bathroom. Some girl walks in wearing a gorilla mask and a ball gown. Rory follows her outside, where the girl says something in Latin and then gets in a black SUV. Rory does some research and finds out the Latin phrase is the motto for a secret society at Yale. It’s called the Life and Death Brigade and nobody is really sure if it actually exists. During the course of her research, Rory finds out Logan’s grandfather was in the society. She finds him one day and asks him about it. He denies any knowledge, but she says she has proof his grandfather was in it, which should mean he’s in it. He still denies it, but the next day, he sends her an instant message telling her he’ll let her in on the scoop.

Christopher calls Lorelai and says GG won’t stop crying and Sherry isn’t home and he doesn’t know what to do. Lorelai races all the way to Boston to help out. She puts the kid in her crib and then turns it around to face the wall so GG can’t see them. GG calms down and Chris says Sherry has left him and gone to Paris. He thinks he can’t raise GG alone, but Lorelai says he can and he will because he has to.

Norman Mailer is at the Dragonfly. Someone is interviewing him, and he and his interviewer sit in the dining room for hours ordering nothing but iced tea, which annoys Sookie to no end. Sookie is really irritated when the Dragonfly’s financial adviser says Sookie should drop lunch temporarily because it’s not making any money. Lorelai asks what her problem is, but Sookie is just crabby.

The Gilmore Girls show up for Friday night dinner and the maid says Richard and Emily aren’t there. Emily is at some function and Richard is out of town. Lorelai decides they should order pizza and eat it on the floor in the living room. Lorelai tells Rory about Christopher and says she plans to go back and help him on Monday. Rory goes to Christopher’s a few days later and tells him she doesn’t want him to call Lorelai anymore because she’s in a relationship now and she doesn’t want him to mess it up.

Luke calls Lorelai and says Kirk is dressed as a hot dog and he’s standing in front of the diner handing out flyers for lunch at the Dragonfly. It’s all Sookie’s doing. Lorelai goes back to the inn and tells Sookie there’s no more lunch. Sookie goes into the dining room and yells at Norman Mailer, telling him it’s all his fault. Lorelai drags her away and Sookie says she doesn’t know why she’s freaking out. Suddenly, she realizes she’s pregnant. She runs back out to the dining room and tells Norman Mailer.

Lorelai goes to Luke’s later and he’s crabby because a couple of guys are sitting around ordering nothing but iced tea.

Lorelai, to Rory: You were behind at Chilton. Remember? And then you hit a deer and everything was fine.

Lorelai is trying to get a permit for two extra parking spaces for the inn, but Taylor keeps rejecting her applications. Taylor is also going after Jackson for the greenhouse he recently had built because it’s too close to the edge of his property. Jackson goes crazy and decides he’s going to run against Taylor in the upcoming election for town selectman. It’s kind of a weird thing because nobody ever runs against Taylor. Lorelai and Sookie set up their campaign table at Luke’s.

Dean and Rory are supposed to hang out, but he calls and says Lindsay has the car and he can’t get there. Rory drives to Stars Hollow to hang out at his house. It’s nice to see his sister, Clara, again, but Dean’s mom is kind of bitchy and disapproving. She makes Dean leave the door open while he and Rory are in his room and oh man do I not miss hanging out with my high school boyfriends in their rooms at their parents’ houses. The next time they get together, they make out in Rory’s car, which is problematic for Dean since he’s about ten feet tall. Rory asks Dean to go to Jackson’s rally with her, but he yells at her for even suggesting such a thing because he doesn’t want to flaunt the relationship all over town and rub Lindsay’s nose in it.

Lorelai asks Lane’s band to play at a rally for Jackson, and now I’m quite sure the writers of this show have never known anyone in a band. The voting starts, and Lane’s band is just then given a tape of the song Jackson wants them to play. They’ve never heard it before, but they’re going to go on and play it in like five minutes. Kirk has been polling, and he says everyone in town plans to vote for Jackson. Lorelai is happy, but then she looks through the window in the diner and sees Taylor sitting by himself in the dark in his soda shoppe. She thinks it’s sad.

Jackson gets on stage and says he has no idea why he’s running for selectman. He already has a job and not a lot of time and he doesn’t want to be selectman. The crowd just loves him more for being an honest man and of course he wins. Only ten people vote for Taylor, most of them because Lorelai asked them to.

After the rally, Zack brings a couple of tramps back to the apartment. Lane hasn’t told Zack she likes him because she’s worried it will break up the band, but she just can’t stand to see him with these girls so she tells him she likes him and then goes to her room. Zack goes outside to think about things.

Dean comes up to Rory at the rally and apologizes for yelling the other night. He says he worked things out with his car and talked to his mom so things are going to be better. Rory asks if Dean would have left Lindsay if she hadn’t found her letter. Dean kind of does that weird grin of his and says yes, of course he would have left her.

Rory: You do not harass the voters. This is not Florida.

Lorelai: Kirk, sit down.

Kirk: Can’t. These aren’t my pants.

Also in this episode, Asher has left Paris a printing press and she puts it in the common room.

This episode starts out with Rory and Dean in Rory’s bed. They’re whispering sweet nothings to each other when they hear Lorelai come home. We get to see the awkward “just caught having sex” scene from Dean’s perspective as he stands on the porch and listens to Rory tell Lorelai how much Dean loves her. He gets a little freaked out and runs home. Lindsay is waiting up for him. She says she answered his phone earlier but nobody was there. Dean decides to pick a fight. Poor Lindsay has no idea what’s going on.

Emily and Richard get home from the Dragonfly and fight all the way through the house and downstairs into the basement. Emily decides she’s going to Europe and she’s looking for her European luggage. Richard goes upstairs and slams the door and Emily gets locked in the basement. She crawls out a window, but her skirt gets caught so she just rips it off and keeps crawling. Richard meets her outside just as some security guys show up because the neighbors complained about their fighting.

Lorelai goes back to the Dragonfly and finds that Luke has taken care of Kirk and laid him down on the couch. He landed in a rosebush and now he’s got thorn scratches on his butt. Sookie comes downstairs and Kirk says something about seeing Luke and Lorelai kissing. Sookie takes Luke into the other room and hugs him because this is so exciting. Luke asks her to keep it quiet for now because he doesn’t know if Lorelai wants people to know yet.

The next morning, Taylor tells Michel and Lorelai that one of his shoes is missing and the other has been chewed. He’s yelling about it when Luke comes downstairs and says he’s leaving, then he looks all upset when Lorelai quickly says goodbye and then goes back to Taylor.

Sookie wants to gossip with Lorelai about Luke. Lorelai’s a little standoffish at first, but she says she’s just processing and she hopes Luke knows she’s happy about the kiss. As soon as she finds a minute, she calls him at the diner. Luke is relieved when Lorelai says it was a great kiss and she’d like to do it again sometime.

Rory comes by for breakfast. Lorelai tries to be friendly and talk about things with her, but Rory is bratty and leaves in a huff. She calls Dean from a pay phone and asks him to meet her at Miss Patty’s to talk. She’s planning to end things with him, but they end up having sex again. Then she goes to Lane’s and tells her everything. Lane thinks maybe she should talk to Lorelai, but Rory says that’s not an option.

Emily comes to the Dragonfly for a lunch Lorelai promised her, not understanding that when she and Richard left the night before, Rory and Lorelai thought lunch was off. Lorelai calls Rory and asks her to come back to the inn. On her way, Rory passes Lindsay talking to a guy at the butcher shop. Lindsay is panicking because she wants to make a roast beef for Dean and wants it to be perfect because it’s his favorite.

Lunch with Emily is awkward and uncomfortable because Rory is a brat. Then Emily announces that she and Richard are separated. Lorelai thinks it’s ridiculous that Richard is living in the pool house. Emily says she’s going to Europe for the summer and wants Rory to go with her. Lorelai manipulates the conversation so that Rory has no choice but to say yes. So now Rory feels like she’s being shipped off to Europe because she acted up.

That night, Lindsay jumps up and down when the roast turns out okay. Lorelai goes to the airport to see Rory and Emily off. Rory is as cold as can be when she says goodbye. Lorelai goes home and gets a message from Luke. He says Liz and TJ got in an accident. They’ve both broken some bones and he’s on his way to help them out at the renaissance fair for a week.

Richard: Only prostitutes have two glasses of wine at lunch.

Lorelai, to Emily: You’re separated by the pool.

Rory goes to Lane’s and they play video games for a minute to see what all the fuss is about. Rory tells Lane all about Jess and his proposal to take her away. The conversation turns to Dean, and Rory says she always knew she could count on him and she regrets screwing things up with him so badly.

Lorelai tells Rory she thinks she’s dating Luke and asks what Rory thinks about that. Rory says they should go inside the diner and see what happens. That’s what they do, and when Luke says hi to her, Lorelai falls into a table and knocks things over.

Lorelai, Sookie and Michel have invited all their friends to the Dragonfly for a trial run before the official opening. As part of a ploy to get her parents to either make up or admit they’re having problems, Lorelai invites them, too.

Rory sees Dean walking down the street. She smiles and waves at him, but he frowns and walks away. She runs into him later at the Dragonfly and asks him what his problem is. He says he was worried that Rory and Jess were back together. She asks him why that would bother him so much and he says it’s because Jess doesn’t treat her right. He leans in for a kiss, but right then Tom the contractor walks in and interrupts. DEAN, YOU ARE MARRIED. STEP AWAY FROM RORY.

Kirk comes to Luke and says he’s worried about spending the night with Lulu at the Dragonfly. He has night terrors and usually ends up running around naked and he doesn’t want Lulu to see him like that. He says he requested the room next to Luke’s so Luke can keep an eye on him.

Guests start arriving at the Dragonfly for the trial run. Kirk asks Michel to take all the bookends and light bulbs out of his room. Emily and Richard show up and Lorelai puts them in the private bungalow. Luke brings Lorelai flowers and she runs into a door. Then Jason shows up. She tells him she can’t talk to him now, but he says he’s not leaving until she agrees to hear him out. He sits in the lobby all night. Luke asks Babette who Jason is, and she says he was Lorelai’s boyfriend for the last six months.

Emily comes in and yells at Lorelai for putting her and Richard in the bungalow when she knows they’re fighting. Then Richard comes in to do some yelling as well. They see Jason in the lobby and decide it’s time to leave. Later, Luke introduces himself to Jason and asks him who he is. Jason says he and Lorelai are dating because I guess he’s in denial or something. Luke goes to Lorelai and says she had to have known what he was doing with the movie invites and stuff and now he finds out she has a boyfriend. She tells him Jason is not her boyfriend. He yells for a minute and then they kiss. FINALLY! Then Kirk comes running down the stairs screaming.

Rory goes home to get some CDs to bring back to the Dragonfly. Dean follows her and they start talking about how they almost kissed earlier. Dean tells Rory that things aren’t working with Lindsay and they’re not happy. He and Rory start making out and then Rory loses her virginity. Lorelai comes home to tell Rory what happened at the inn and she sees Rory and Dean come out of Rory’s room with their clothes all rumpled. Dean leaves and Rory acts like the whole thing is no big deal. Lorelai tries to get her to see that this isn’t good and she can’t be sleeping with a married man, but Rory doesn’t really get it until she goes outside to call Dean and Lindsay answers the phone.
