Gilmore Girls Season Seven, Episode Five: The Great Stink
Rory gets a call from Logan. He tells her there’s a meteor shower and she should go up on the roof of the apartment building to see it. When she gets up there, Logan is on the roof with dinner. His team has been trying to buy a website or something and they have a breakfast meeting the next morning.
Lorelai spends the night at Christopher’s and makes fun of his TiVo choices. Chris says he got a letter from Sherry, her first contact since the divorce (they were married?). Sherry is living in France and dating her yoga instructor. She’s feeling bad about what happened and she wants to be part of GG’s life.
Stars Hollow smells. Taylor calls an emergency town meeting, which Lorelai skips so she doesn’t have to see Luke. Taylor says a train derailed east of town a few days ago, and a whole lot of pickles have been baking in the sun. He thinks they should just wait it out because he doesn’t want to spend the $2,500 it would cost to have them cleaned up. The town votes unanimously to just get it done.
Christopher says he talked to Sherry and she wants him to send GG to Paris to stay with her for a few months. He says he thinks it’s a good idea and he’s planning on sending the nanny with her. Lorelai of course thinks it’s a horrible idea but doesn’t say anything because she’s so used to Luke not wanting her to have an opinion about April.
Logan calls Rory and says his team got the deal they were looking for and he’s sending a car to pick Rory up to celebrate. When she gets to the restaurant, she’s upset when she finds the whole team is there. She wanted to spend the evening alone with him. And she’s very surprised when Bobby turns out to be a hot chick named Bobbie. Rory is bored to tears at all the descriptions of the morning’s meeting, and she gets annoyed at all the boys’ constant shows of admiration for Bobbie.
Lorelai brings up her concerns about Paris while she and Chris are on their way to Friday night dinner. Chris gets upset, of course, and assumes Lorelai is threatened by Sherry. He acts like an ass through dinner, and Lorelai finally says she wants to talk to him in the bathroom. She tries to tell him she understands why he’s upset, and he says, “Thanks for telling me how I feel.” And then he walks out. I hate Christopher. They’re having drinks in the living room later, and Chris interrupts Emily’s tirade about tennis to ask Lorelai to go to Paris with him and GG.
After dinner, Rory tells Logan she thought Bobbie was a guy and she was a little thrown. She also rants a little about how condescending Bobbie was at dinner and how much she’s missed Logan. Logan leaves, and Rory goes to catch drinks at the grandparents’ house. When she gets there, Lorelai shows everyone pictures of Emily being released from jail.
