Besides her flat delivery, I hate that, after a token mention of her school and classmates, it devolves into one big shout-out to her family. I am gonna defend Rory and Lorelai going to Europe. It was a vacay they'd been saving for for years. And the way they did it, hostels and whatnot, probably didn't cost so much that the money would have made a huge dent in tuition at Yale. But c'mon. Lorelai is a single mom who runs a hotel. I'm pretty sure Rory qualified for whatever student loan she could get. Thanks to this episode, whenever I hear someone use the phrase ‘no strings attached,’ I think “Those are strings, Pinocchio.”
