Lauren Graham on cover of MORE magazine

I’ve just gotten word that Lauren Graham is going to appear on the cover of MORE magazine’s March issue, which will go on sale February 23. She looks incredible, as usual, even in a bright orange dress and great big crazy eighties earrings.
In the cover story, Lauren talks about her parents…
“My dad had really boring cars. We didn’t have an answering machine. We didn’t even own a microwave until I was in college. It was two people reading most of the time. But then I’d go see my mother in London, where there’d be members of a band and these kooky dinners, and just a way more bohemian energy.”
…not joining Facebook or Twitter…
“Why would I want to be more accessible?”
…and what it was like to rejoin the real world after seven years of Gilmore Girls…
“I would go to things people invited me to. They were like, ‘What are you doing here?’ I’d say, ‘You invited me.’ ‘Yes, but you haven’t come for the past seven years.”
Lauren (I like to pretend we’re on a first name basis) is returning to television next month in NBC’s Parenthood, a remake of an eighties movie I absolutely hated. I think I just hated it because I don’t really like Steve Martin. Or Dianne Wiest. Or Mary Steenburgen. I think Keanu was in that movie, too. And Rick Moranis. God, it’s like my nightmare cast. Anyway, my hopes for the new series are pretty high because it’s got Lauren Graham and Peter Krause and Craig T. Nelson and a bunch of people I’ve never heard of and therefore don’t hate (yet).
I actually saw a preview the other day for the first time and thought it looked pretty funny. From what I can tell from the preview and NBC’s website, it seems Lauren Graham is once again playing a single mom, but instead of having a perfect angel “Rory” of a daughter, her teenage kids on Parenthood are rebellious troublemakers. She seems a little more vulnerable and a little less, “I’m Lorelai, queen of the world, everyone loves me.”
I already know I’ll be watching Parenthood because I really do love Lauren Graham and think she’s a great actress. I also love Peter Krause, who will be playing her brother. Craig T. Nelson will be playing her father and I think he’s pretty cool, too.

I LOVE Craig Nelson and miss Coach like hell. I may have to do a Hulu search for the show when it comes out since I don’t have tv any more.

Didn’t TV-land already do an ill-fated version of Parenthood right before it came out? The only good thing about it is that it discovered Leonardo (I’d totally be on first-name basis with him) and that’s a gift the world cannot live without.

*I meant AFTER the movie came out. Having the spin-off TV show come out before the movie would make very little sense.

I will watch this too (if my little baby will let me). I love Lauren Graham and Peter Krause. However, I liked the original Parenthood. I think Steve Martin is hilarious but agree with you about Keanu. He’s so overdramatic I could puke.

Lorelai, there was a TV series in 1990, but it was canceled pretty quickly for some reason.
Brooke, I don’t really hate Steve Martin, I just don’t find him as funny as others seem to. If given the choice between him or Craig T. Nelson, I’ll take the CTN any day.

I can’t wait to see Lauren again on a weekly basis.
The other Parenthood TV show was a sitcom and 20 years ago, so very different from the new one starting March 2nd, from all reports it will be good and I hope it lasts, giving all involved the recognition they deserve and maybe getting Lauren that long awaited Emmy!
