Gilmore Girls Season Three, Episode Six: Take the Deviled Eggs
After a town meeting one night, Luke and Lorelai see Jess driving up to the diner in a car. Luke is concerned about where he got the money for the car since he really doesn’t make that much working at the diner. Jess finally tells Luke he’s been working at Wal-Mart. Luke thinks it’s pretty funny and makes fun of his Wal-Mart smock. Lorelai and Lane each express annoyance that the guy who crashed Rory’s car now has a car of his own. Rory is pretty annoyed, too, but you know she’s still just upset that he’s with that Shane chick.
Rory gets invited to Sherry’s baby shower. She’s not sure how she feels about it, but she decides to go. Lorelai drives her to Boston and plans to go shopping while Rory is at the shower. Unfortunately, Sherry accosts her outside and insists she join the party. Lorelai hates Sherry’s friends because they’re all lame and annoying and they want to play stupid baby shower games. Also, most of them are drunk.
Lorelai is already crabby, but then Sherry starts talking about how attentive Christopher has been and how excited he is about the baby. Lorelai gets annoyed and goes into the bathroom. She wants to rearrange Sherry’s OCD organized medicine cabinet, but Rory gets her out of there before she does too much damage. When they leave, Sherry makes them take the deviled eggs. When the girls get back to Stars Hollow, Rory suggests they throw the deviled eggs on Jess’ car.
The town loner wants to stage a protest in the town square, but Taylor won’t let him. The priest and the rabbi let him do it at the church, even though Taylor tries to talk them out of it. Everyone gathers in the square and watches the guy go up to the bell tower. He unrolls a long banner that reaches the ground, but it’s facing the wrong way and nobody can read it. When he tries to turn it around, it falls. The town loner gathers up his ruined banner and leaves. Nobody knows what he was protesting.

How dare Jess get a car. How dare Christopher want to be a responsible parent. Oh please.
Couldn’t Rory have stopped Jess from driving her car?
Wasn’t Lorelei the one who ran off to raise Rory on her own?

Oh, you know the Gilmore Girls. They think the world revolves around them and get upset when other people don’t agree.
