Gilmore Girls Season Two, Episode Twenty: Help Wanted
Luke’s Diner is closed. There’s a sign on the door that says “Gone Fishing.” The Girls go to another restaurant for breakfast, but it totally sucks. This other restaurant is apparently where Michel dines. Lorelai sits with him for a minute to get on his nerves.
Rory stays home from Friday night dinner because she wants to be there when Dean comes back to town. She doesn’t want him finding out about the crash from anyone but her. When he gets home, Rory is waiting at his house. She gives him a letter explaining everything and stands there while he reads it. He’s pissed off, but placated by the fact that Jess is no longer in Stars Hollow.
Richard has incorporated himself and created the Gilmore Group. Margie, his longtime secretary, has turned down his offer to work for him again. Richard can’t figure out why. Lorelai tells him it’s because he’s not even offering to match her current salary. Richard and Emily get discouraged and aren’t sure he should go ahead without Margie. Lorelai thinks they’re being ridiculous so she offers to help until Richard finds a new secretary.
Lorelai goes to Richard’s office and it’s a huge mess. She takes him to an office supply store, answers the phone, organizes the office and helps interview secretary candidates. Richard claims not to like anyone they interview. He wants Lorelai to stay and gets upset when she says she can’t come back the next day because she has to work at the inn.
A music shop opens in Stars Hollow. Lane goes in and falls in love with a drumset. She decides it is her destiny to be a great drummer, so she convinces the lady who owns the shop to let her come to the store and practice.
Richard is having a party at the office to celebrate his new business. Emily gets upset when she sees Rory’s cast. Rory tells her everything. When Emily starts blaming Lorelai for letting Rory run around with Jess, Rory flips out. She’s sick of everyone blaming Jess and acting like she’s some mindless chick being led around by a guy. Lorelai takes her out into the hall, where she starts screaming like an immature brat about how she gets to hate Jess because he broke her daughter’s wrist. Rory takes the bus back to Stars Hollow and sees Luke while she walks home from the bus stop. He gives her some coffee and they talk about Jess. Rory says it wasn’t his fault. Luke says he knows.

Lorelai is at her best when she’s just trolling people for the LOLs.

So did I. I sort of wished she would have stayed on as his secretary, lol.

Is it weird that I want Lane’s red drumkit even though I don’t play the drums? I’d just like to have them in my house so I can bang on them when I’m feeling blue and piss of my stupid neighbours.

What better reason to have drums?
