Rory has gotten her PSAT scores and is surprised she did better in math than verbal. Paris comes to school boasting about her scores. Rory actually did better than her, but she’s too polite to say so, no matter how many times Paris asks her what her scores were.

Lorelai’s house has termites and it’s going to cost fifteen thousand dollars to fix it. Lorelai is sure she can hear them chewing at the wood while she’s trying to sleep, so she wakes Rory up and they go to spend the night at Sookie’s. Sookie starts making the Girls milkshakes in the kitchen, and Lorelai discovers Jackson hiding in the closet. He comes out wearing his pajamas, which have pictures all over them of him in his high school wrestling uniform.

Rory goes to Lane’s and Mrs. Kim kicks her out because she thinks she has termites on her. Rory wants Lorelai to go to Emily and Richard for money, but Lorelai refuses. She tries really hard to get a loan for the repairs, but none of the banks she calls will help her. At the next Friday night dinner, Rory takes it upon herself to tell Emily about the termites. Emily immediately goes for the checkbook, but Lorelai takes away her pen and refuses to accept anything. She doesn’t speak to Rory the whole way home, and then she yells at her like the spoiled brat she is.

Rory goes to Stars Hollow High to meet Dean after school one day and she sees Lane in a cheerleader uniform. Rory is mad that Lane didn’t tell her she joined the squad, especially since they’ve been making fun of cheerleaders together for years. They have a fight, but they make up after Rory sees her perform and realizes it’s just for fun.

Emily calls Lorelai to say she talked to a banker friend of hers who has agreed to meet with her. Luke takes a look at the house and offers to loan Lorelai the money. She doesn’t want to do that, so she goes to meet Emily’s friend. Emily is at the bank, of course, and Lorelai threatens to go home unless Emily promises to keep quiet during the meeting. Lorelai asks the banker to treat her just like any other person coming in for a loan. He says that in that case, he can’t help her unless she has a co-signer. Emily is more than happy to co-sign the loan. Lorelai wants to know what the new arrangement is going to be, what she owes Emily now. Emily acts all offended and says she just wanted to do something nice for her daughter. Then she says she’ll be having her DAR meetings at the inn from now on.

Rory and Lorelai make up, but not before Lorelai admonishes Rory one more time for butting in.

Lorelai: Why don’t you have one of those hats with the lights on ‘em?

Luke: I flip burgers for a living.

  1. Lori says:

How did Lane get her mother to let her be a cheerleader? Or did Mrs. Kim not know?

    Shannon Reply:

That’s an excellent question. I cannot believe that Mrs. Kim was okay with Lane dancing around in a cheerleading uniform, but she’s not mentioned either way.

I love that one of your tags is “Lorelai acts like a brat.” Even though I will watch and enjoy the occasional GG episode, I’m always horrified by Lorelai’s behavior. I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one :)

I absolutely love this show, but man, she really is a piece of work. Every time I watch it, she disgusts me a little bit more.

When you first started this blog and I saw your list of tags, I thought, ” She’s going to be using that tag a lot.”

Yeah, I knew I was going to be using it pretty much every day.
